As a nationally ranked runner, finding out that I had arthritis and had to have bilateral hip replacement (2002) was a setback. In the past five years I have come back to national ranking and honorable mention in Running Times for 50-55 a/g last year. I hope to be setting records well into my 80s.
|Why do I run:
It is an intergral part of my life. It enhances the quality of the rest of my time.
|Why I started running:
To stop smoking (it worked).
