Lakefront Days Triathlon: Swim Leg
Warmed up with about 5-10 minutes of swimming along the ropes.
Wave started, I held back a bit to let everyone get going. Freestyled 95% of the time—would stop every so often to sight or to avoid others. Swam straighter than expected, but still veered around a bit. I just took an easy pace and felt ok. For the first 100m or so, my form was pretty poor, but then I noticed that and things got much better. I mostly breathed every 2 strokes, sometimes going every 3. Sighting was made easier by the rope line.
