I forgot to wet the skin below my HRM strap and the early HR data is missing or erratic. Once I slathered some saliva below the strap, it worked as expected. I tried to do something similar to Monday, but with a few differences. I wore jeans instead of short pants and Vapor Glove/socks instead of barefoot. That increased weight and the stiffness of the jeans may have also increased the difficulty a little. I also used nose breathing as the limiter instead of the HRM alarm. I did try to keep cadence around 180. That was the same. After the warm up walk, I started the run/walk intervals. The switch from nose breathing to mouth breathing varied greatly. Earlier in the workout, I could nose breath into the mid 160 bpm range and even hit 175 bpm once before switching to mouth breathing and walking to let the HR drop. Later in the workout, the switch occurred with a lower HR range. Some of that may be attributed to running into the wind by the lake instead of on a sheltered side street. Perhaps that switchover point also just changes as the workout progresses.
