This was the speed test run to set my training pace zones for the next eight weeks. I did half an hour warm-up with five thirty second runs, followed by a timed one mile run, and then a ten minute cool down to finish. I wore my Inov-8 F-Lite 195. At the beginning of the one mile run, my shins bothered me a little. That changed over to some calf tightness, which later went away. The wind was gusting at 20-40 mph, usually from the side. I've got some work ahead of me. After calculating my training zones, my slowest zone is about at my current run speed. Hopefully, I will be faster when this training session is over. As a bonus, the additional calories burned will help me lose weight more quickly.
