Notes
This was an all barefoot run. Other than the warm up and cool down walks, it was a continual slow run right at the limit of my nasal breathing. Sweet! There were a few brief times of mouth breathing, but I was able to slow just a bit and resume nasal breathing. The sun setting during the run brought a new understanding. When the path was well lit, I noticed and avoided all of the little bits of grit and small pebbles on the path. Once the sun set, the visual detail of the path went with it. Since I could not seem them to avoid them, I now landed on the bits of grit and small pebbles I had avoided before. What I found was that it didn't really matter. Since my feet were relaxed, it was no big deal. By the time I could tense up preparing to land on them, I had already landed on them and it was too late. So, I stayed relaxed and kept going. If something stuck, it soon fell off. If it stuck too long, a quick side step into the grass brushed it off. When I resumed walking, my hips were a bit tight from holding the bent knee position. My achilles are still tight, but some continuation of this should fix them right up.
