I knew this was going to be bad when I started. I should have taken it more seriously and rested up a little, rather than running a 9 miler yesterday and then do yard work all morning. I would put money on myself to improve those mile paces at each HR by a minute the next time I do this.

Anyways, this Hadd test was also a bit of an eye-opener. I knew that I was not as fast as high school, but I haven't had it quantified like I did today. I used to run in the low 17s for the 5k, and today I ran just under 8 minutes for a mile, which is a pace that I was not even sure I could keep up for 5k. The 400m I did was telling as well; I used to do that 12x400 workout, starting with 72s for the first four and then dropping down to mid to low 60s for the last intervals. I guess that workout was the culmination of four years of training, so maybe I can expect to be back in that kind of shape in another four years? Hopefully less.
