Fun race, went with Leslie and Carrie. Very humid, flat course, lots of spectators.
Had oatmeal and coffee for breakfast, drank water a ate a few bites of a bagel and banana in the parking lot before the event started. Drank water and gatorade provided by the course, brought a honey stinger gel but didn't eat it.
My ankle was stiff starting out, but felt OK by mile 4 or so. Managed to keep a decent pace under the conditions. Finished relatively strong and stood on the beach in the water afterwards, which felt great.
My ankle started aching later in the day so I wore a CEP compression ankle support for a few hours, and it helped. I'll rest and ice it Monday and plan to skip NS on Sep 3 to let it heal/recover more.
