Notes

Some guy bumped into me when I was going to the corral before the race and my Garmin 610 fell off my wrist. After jogging about 20 yards I noticed my watch was gone. I went back to where the incident happened yelling "Did anyone find a Garmin watch?." I couldn't find my watch. A female volunteer heard me and told me someone found my watch and had taken the watch to Halim who is the captain at the start. I went to the start and found Halim. He said the watch was being taken to the lost-and-found. I told him I did not have the time to go to the lost-and-found because I did not want to miss the race and that I would get the watch after the race. After the race I go to lost-and-found and asked the woman in charge, Sylvia, if they had my watch. She said "no." No one had given my watch to lost-and-found. I told her that before the race Halim said the watch was being taken to lost-and-found. She then started to make some phone calls to find out what had happened to the watch. It turns out a runner that Halim knows had the watch and said they would return it to lost-and-found. Sylvia said that was the wrong thing for Halim to do. He should have taken the watch from the runner and returned it to lost-and-found. Halim told Sylvia it was not possible for the watch to be returned today. Sylvia took my information. She said to call NYRR to see if the watch has been returned. The head of the volunteers is aware of the matter.
