I told myself going into this that I was going to try my best, and if it isn't good enough than I still tried my best. I am currently 2.55 seconds out of the top 20. I had an awesome race. I did everything I was supposed to do. The only issue was that I had to lead the last mile. I knew that they were just sitting on me. Going into the bell lap I tried as hard as I could to get around the Calvin guy, but he sped up and I went behind him. As I look back now I should have continued to surge even into the curve. I got a little bit of booty lock the last 75 meters, and 10 meters before the line St. Olaf passed me. Even though I am not going to Boston, I am still happy with this race. I shaved 9 seconds off my pr. I moved up 1 or 2 spots on the top. I basically held my high school mile pr for the whole race. Very pleased with this. There were so many good things that happened during that race. That was the first time all season I truly believed that I could win a race from the beginning to the end. This will serve as more foundation for bigger things to come.
