Notes
The race was originally supposed to start at 7, but once again the weather had other plans. I was all warmed up for a 7 start time and then the race got pushed back a half hour, and then another half hour. So after warming up twice, it was finally time to do the race. Before the race started a bunch of kids were walking by and one of the goes, "he's from Wartburg, he is going to win the whole thing." I am pretty sure it was Levi Dolphin's little brother. I finished the race with a decent time, nothing to brag about, and everyone there was like, "Holy shit, you're fast!" I went back on the course for my cool down and saw the same group of kids, and they all were in awe that I was done already.
I was told the race was pretty hilly, so that's why the first mile was a little slower. I went out super conservative, I also had no idea where I was going. You would think the gator would have done a better job directing me. We were supposed to run through the park, and the guys on the gator pointed, but they pointed the wrong way, so I almost took a wrong turn. Ran a little faster the last mile, and then finished strong. Stayed smooth the entire race. Got what I needed to out of this one. Would have liked to have gone a little faster, but not knowing the course really set me back. Maybe next year I'll come back and do it again.
Also, Kylie's sister Madison won the overall women's race, and we both got quarter zips. Mine was a large.....
