Notes
Mike Jay was/is very much so in love with me at this race. I felt kind of odd having me announce stuff about me when the meet was put on by Iowa. He also announced the winner as a "champion" which I guess is correct, but just seemed a little dramatic for a 6k season opener. Anyways, at the start I tried my best to not fall into the fast start trap, but it was so darn hard since like 15 dudes from Iowa were getting after it at the start. I should've known none of them could hold the pace but oh well. I pretty even split this race and felt hella outta shape while doing it. I was pretty pleased to be able to hold 5 flats while on grass. The course was two utter loops with a downhill start and slight up hill finish. I also just added another 5k to the race schedule this fall. Bowerman is hosting a 5k the day I get to Oregon and all the whole team is doing it. It won't be pretty, but it'll be a good way to meet more of the team. Curren is also doing it with me.
Going to be a busy September.
