Seems like Cascade has been holding back on me all these years! Strava maps showed "roads" going through a field. I could never see them from the road, but apparently they are accessible from the back of this campground. SO I went back there and found the dirt path expecting it to turn into tall grass right away. I was very wrong. It wasn't a ton of distance back there but probably something like 2 1/4 miles. Maybe throughout the summer they also mow down some of the grassier paths so I could run those to make it a little longer. Good thing the farmers of Cascade don't have strava, because I definitely trespassed a little. Also, sort of day dreamed a little out there. I think I saw a younger looking hawk. And it made me think "what would happen if I got attacked by a hawk right now." I kid you not, my first thought was, welp there goes my running streak because if it got me good enough, I probably won't be able to run the next day with fresh stitches all over my back and shoulders." Don't worry though, my second thought was getting to a hospital as soon as possible.
