Notes

Going into this I had one goal in mind: Beat Matt Osmulski and be the fastest d3 runner.

From the gun, Alec Bass went out sprinting up the infamous Brady St hill. In my mind I was like "I have beaten Bass a bunch of times, surely I should go out with him." I was wrong. Bass went through the first mile in like 5 flat and I wasn't too far behind. And then I proceeded to put a bunch of pressure on the second mile and could only mustard out a 4:57. I passed Bass and he ended up running like 38 or 39 minute maybe. I was still feeling pretty good going down the hills, and then on the one up hill before the turn around I started to feel it a bit. I saw Patel go up the hill and I wasn't;t too far behind him. Got to the turn around, hit 3.5 miles in about 17:50 something. Osmulski came up on me at around the fourth mile. He said "let's do this." I stuck with him for about two minutes tops. Then I couldn't keep it up anymore. I started to slow down. Then the elite women came by, about 4 or 5 of them, and I went with them for another 2ish minutes, only to fall off their pack again. Then another female came by and we raced side by side for about a mile. That helped a lot. And when I looked up I was almost gaining some ground back on Osmulski. Why couldn't I just be tougher for like 2 more minutes by him? We were going like the same speed after I fell off, the only thing is he put about 200 meters on me in 50 seconds. When it started to get really hard running with him, my Brian just said "you don't need to beat him today, it's July, you're running a bunch, beat him in November when it counts." That was my excuse, my way out of pushing it harder. I was running for myself at that point and not my team.

Afterwards, it is just the Bix, and it has no effect on the season this fall, but damn, I wanted to beat him so bad! I know for a fricken fact that when Caleb and Sam, and a couple other knights, are running that race with me, and we are moving together towards the end of the race, and the only thing going through our minds is "Bremer" that nothing can stop us.

"100% of me is nothing compared to 1% of the team" - Eliud

Ps. This was also a 35 second Bix pr, and the course was a tad longer than 7
