From the prospective of being the dog walker: I absolutely loath dog leash rules in the middle of no where.

From the perspective of being a runner seeing a dog walker: keep your monster on a leash

Murray has pretty impeccable recall and I always have him sit and wait for people to pass. Or I'll just keep my distance.

The other day some old guy with absolutely nothing else going on his life (I'm exaggerating slightly) told us "What a good boy just sitting there, but you know all I have to do it take a picture and they will send you a fee in the mail." And then cut to 5 min later and the fucker turned around to check on us. Wasn't a fan of being monitored by a pedestrian. If an actual park ranger gave me a ticket, I would accept it and pay it.

So anyways, this time we decided to go way out of town. Didn't really see anyone. Nothing bad happened. As I was shutting the door to my car with Murray in the back, a sheriff pulled up. If he would've came 30s earlier I'd be staring down a big 'ol citation. Yikes.

The thesis of my rant: if you have a very poorly trained, vicious, threatening looking dog, leash that bad boy up. But if you have a well trained good boy, do as you please and accept the consequences from authorities and tell everyone else to eff off.
