Weird weird day. So Cal was not the place to be this weekend. Tons of rain and wind. Lots of trees down caused the race to be delayed and eventually moved to a 1210m lengthed concrete track with mud.

400-500 dudes on a couple yards wide startline starting track style. As you can tell, my first mile and half was probably a little too aggressive. But we had to get out because there were so many people. This was just a weird race. I pretty much maintained the whole way and then tried my best to finish hard. Just need to get better at those middle miles and be able to keep an aggressive pace.

Pretty content with this race as it was much, much better than last week and huge step in the right direction. With all of the outside, uncontrollable factors, I'm glad that I could still even race. The race getting moved to an even footing track was best case scenario for me. I only stumbled a little bit during this race. Vision was much. It was a little annoying having to race in glasses but oh well.

I'm also taking a more wholistic approach to this season. I built a huge base and it'll pay off eventually. I'm beyond glad I made the leap and moved out here. Coaching is great and my teammates are great. They are just a bunch of goofy cross guys that have a ton of other stuff going on but still want to race at a very high level. They welcomed me with open arms, and I love the team atmosphere.

Afterwards we went out and had a wild time. Thankfully we got home a little earlier than last week. Home at 1 AM then I was up and at 'em at #;40 Am to catch a 5:15 flight. Holy long day.

And it was a bonus getting to see Caleb! and his parents!

Wild morning leading up to this, but I'm so pumped we could both still have solid races. Your work is inspiring dude, after my break I'm going to start getting more miles in.

P.S. We should try to coordinate another race... Or potentially a marathon soon at some point?!?
