Notes

I'm hitting negative splits on ten-milers, now.

This is my best month running probably ever. I feel strong, I feel fast (though I know I've been faster) and I'm hitting some big workout goals.

I'm shooting for an AG win at the Nebraska 5 mile Championships, a week after Boys' Town. The Boys' Town race is bigger, faster, better contested, but a good showing at NE5 comes with some bragging rights.

Running's saving my life right now. It's giving me a feeling of competence at a time when the world is telling me I suck. But I don't suck at this. Out on the road, I have objective proof that I'm good at something. Maybe not the best in town, but better than most, and by a long way. The resulting confidence is keeping me going. Maybe not as much as I'd like, but I'm moving forward.

Next week I need to get the application for grad school in, register for the GRE, and get my ass ready for that. I need to pitch OAK, and get some training and teaching in before BBQ. Get the basement dojo put together. Buy materials for makiwara and kakiya. More running volume. Much, much, less sitting. No more collecting underpants. Time for Phase 2.
