excellent run to celebrate the "official" start to summer; left the school yard around 12:30 following our final day of departmental (cornhole tournament) and administrative (trivia contest) "meetings"... sweet.

hot in the sun on loop one. tried to keep it slower than whatever "easy" felt like, but apparently i went out to hard. that and i really needed to bring some water with me, as the half-nalgene between loops was NOT enough.

not exactly a death march at the end, just got super concerned that i was going to eat it on one of the late rocky/steep downhills. dropped to super low-gear on most of the late climbs, so those actually felt good.

all-in-all, a good learning experience. running long/steep is quite a challenge. just makes me more curious about some of the really mountainous 100-milers... obviously, the elevation gain(s) are higher, but how will the terrain compare.

stopped for chocolate milk and a 32-oz polar pop of mountain dew (liquid feckin GOLD!) on the ride home. still weighed in under 150 (on the new scale... so, more like 146 on the old scale) after half a gallon of fluids. nice!

hurtin' (physically) but my magnificent orb of mountain mana is shining just a little bit brighter after today...
