Popped the emergency key by accident at 8.9 miles... Doh. Splits on the watch are all messed up. Oh well. Got the run in.
Planned to quickly progress from 7:30s down to 6:40s in the first few miles: 8mph then 0.1mph faster each quarter mile (8.4@1mi), then each third of a mile (8.7@2mi), then each half mile (8.9@3mi), then 0.1mph every mile after. Goal of approx. 9.2@6mi, 9.5@9mi, and finally 9.8@12mi. Then a two mile cool-down.
Ended up approximately as follows:
2mi @ 14:20
4mi @ 13:30 (27:50)
6mi @ 13:00 (40:50)
8mi @ 12:40 (53:30)
10mi @ 12:25 (65:55) *TM screwed up here...
12mi @ 12:05 (78:00) **picked up the pace to finish hard...
40:50 / 38:00 for the 6mi splits
not much time for a cool-down... only ran a couple tenths or so until my 1hr 20mins was up...
