2m easy, 1m with 3x15-20sec strides to get things going then into a 3 mile tempo (threshold?). HR was jumpy/high today which kept me holding back on miles 1-3. I think it was just one of those days though as sleep wasn't great.

Tempo was so-so. Felt hard and the high HR was getting in my head and making me feel like I was over-doing it - and maybe I was. It's been awhile since I've done a morning fully fasted tempo and suspect that also helped to spike things up.

On the plus side, it might be good that I'm able to dip into these higher heart rates as it suggests my working range is larger and my max is almost surely higher than I've estimated.

I'll keep using heart rate as a rough/loose guide while on the run and as a really nice data point otherwise.

Nice to see miles at/under 7 min but still lots of fitness to gain.
