Anchorage, AK. Tony Knowles coastal trail. Interesting run for many reasons. Planned as a 7 mile run to break in new shoes and see if left knee pain was due to worn out shoes. No knee pain today! Could be shoes, just a lot of running, or the surface. The trails on Ft. Rich are not as stable as asfalt and may aggravate the knee. Still researching.
Had to shit 3 miles into run and the closest bathroom was at Kinkaid further down the trail (5 mi total) so I just made it a 5 mi out & back. I saw a black bear about 30 yards to my left as I trodded through. I had to come back the same way again. Cool.
