My right calf muscle was really tight and had me a little worried. I switched shoes at the 3 mile mark to the more cushiony shoes and tried to stretch and roll it out really quick. It seemed to help. Still felt it the whole time but it didn't lead to anything else. (Tight calves can be a cause for tendon issues later on, or so I've read!) Did the 5 x 1000 meters @ 8:00 pace starting around mile 3, with 1/4 mile jogs. Again, the paces felt comfortable. I was pretty focused on the calf (and a few niggles toward the end) b/c I was freaked out about causing issues later. But happy to say I made it through with no lingering effects!
