Low expectations, saving myself for Friday and placed 5th. Hauled ass the final tenth to beat/pull even with potential AGrouper. 19%

Not too much to tell about the Tory Row 5K on Sunday, but I just had to share my finish line pix.
I placed in this race last year, but in 2013 it fell on the same day as the BAA 10K, which I suspect diluted the field. I had modest expectations this year, plus I am saving myself for hopefully a 5K in Ohio later this week, so I did not plan to go all out at this race.
However, as I rounded the final bend and last tenth mile or less remaining, there was a woman just ahead of me whose family called out to her as she rounded the corner. That drew my attention, and she looked to potentially be in my age group, so I tried to beat her to the finish.
The photos are awesome. I wish there was video. I think we crossed the line pretty evenly. I may have just nudged past her.
However, she beat me by 4 seconds gun time. Yes, she was in my age group, placing 4th; I got 5th.
