Last-minute race with Susan. I put a feeler out this week for long run with Aime, Lisa and/or Susan, and Susan invited me. Small, mainly trails, funny theme. I decided to go for it. Didn't realize I hadn't raced a half since last May. It felt good to push hard for a couple hours. The course was lovely and interesting, much of it along a river. The forest path wasn't too fully of roots and pine cones, but had to stay alert. Parts of the river were still iced over. It was interesting/helpful to run a lap of the track midrace and announcer called out current top 3 age groupers. Still wasn't fast enough to catch them, but good to know where I stood. Nice spread of bananas, bagels, sweets post race. A last-minute course change resulted in slightly long route, 13.31. Pace-adjusted 1:52:39.
