Yeah, baby, yeah! Had high hopes for this run, mostly fulfilled. Jon and I were off to a rough start. The first few miles were the worst as far as spotty ice, some slicked over by large puddles. It was slow, cautious going. We were forced into the shoulder at points and had to cross Memorial Drive due to construction under Longfellow. I hope that is temporary. Jon (wearing shorts) peeled off at River Street to head back. Miraculously, the rest of the path out to Arsenal and returning on the other side was MUCH better, and I was able to open up and enjoy the mild temperatures. Saw the black squirrel near Eliot. Then I ran beyond our start point, back past MoS, to Best Buy to snag a copy of Love Actually and ran back home, rounding out my desired 14 miles. Very pleased with negative splits. I promised Pat no yoga today, but I'm sorely tempted by 4:00. We'll see whether I can squeeze it in. He's got a post lunch errand and then we're off to Nutcracker tonight. 19%
