33:10 at Wash U today! 47 sec pr from last year/two years ago. So excited and happy about that. Jake was there and he was very pleased with it as well, which is a huge plus. Went out in 4th, sat in the back of a pack running 78-79 pace watching some guy run off the front. Moved into third around 2 miles in, then with 12 laps to go I moved into second chasing this guy. We had started with roughly a 9 sec gap, and I cut it down to 3 sec with ~6 laps to go, but I couldn't close that last bit. I held even for 2 more laps, then struggled that last mile. I got caught by a guy or two, but held off a guy at 700 and 300m to go, which is when I started kicking for my life. Beat him by 4 sec, which is awesome! One thing I wonder is what would've happened had I thrown in a hard surge to catch the leader with around 1.5 miles to go. I have the feeling I would've died harder, but you never know.
