2015 Snow10. BC9. BC Ski7. The Impact Zone.
Gnarly weather so wasn't sure quite what to do, but there were a bunch of lines in the Impact Zone so it had to be safe, right?! Mariko drove me up the hill (how awesome is that? Out of action for a couple of weeks but will still drive with me out to the mountain!) and I skinned over the ridge to the top of the bowl. Turned out all the tracks were from Thursday... Glad MHM didn't know that... until later, that is. Was going to dig a pit regardless and it turned out to be fine anyway. Did two nice lines. Good times. And good burgers.
One really good thing about No Name Peak and the Impact Zone is that you don't have to hike in for half an hour or so over flat, crappy terrain before the real hike begins. You're going uphill over good terrain right from the start. Thus you can spend two hours on the mountain and still get three good lines (probably four even...) Nice that you don't have to spend most of the day there. Thus MHM doesn't mind it. For now anyway!
