2013 Run #65. Did four laps and took this one EZ. Was stoked that it was cloudy and cool to start with. Sunned up on the last lap though. Just cruised though, my mind on the drinks break after every lap. Nice.

Just finished Brocket Multisport's five week training programme for the Kushiro 30K. Drilled my five long runs (including 30K in Tokyo two weeks ago). Got 5 hill runs, two speed runs and one EZ run as well. Total of 13 runs. However for whatever reason I got kinda sick in there. Heatstroke, stress, and at times lack of sleep could have done it. Don't really know though...

The question is, should I do Kushiro?

Sure by not showing up in Kushiro I am throwing away 3000 yen in the entry fee (please let it only be 3000 yen...) Of course, the other option is to drive out there (two and half hours), sleep in the car (yeah not such a great idea in summer) or get a hotel (there goes some more cash...) then thrash myself in the hot sun over 30K and possibly get sick again... Repeating the Biei Half is so not what I want to be doing...

Signed up for the Nemuro Half on the 18th of August though, and as I can currently cruise through 20K, maybe I'll just wait until then... Only got back into running this year, after all. Don't need to push this.

And... I did get my 30K in Tokyo two weeks ago anyway!

Are you healthy now? Your call entirely, but you did the work for this 30k and have done well, might as well crush it rather than have a what if in your head. If you were undertrained I'd think differently but you're not. Give it a few days think about it.
