Today was my first real attempt at running a steady 10:18 pace, which is what I need to pace the 2:15 half marathon. The final time was pretty close, but my splits were all over the place: 9:55, 10:20, 10:22, 10:17; 10:20; 10:28, 10:01; 10:16, 10:18, 10:23. That was on a flat course, except for mile one (big downhill) and mile 10 (big uphill). I presume I'll get better at it as I practice.
