Had definite muscle tightness in my shins again but did not lead to total cramping, inability to raise foot, or excessive foot slapping this time. So that's progress. Hopefully the various stretching and strengthening exercises I am doing are having some kind of effect. Interesting in that my legs felt very tight in general (shins, calves, hamstrings) and they also felt dead and heavy. I think I could have eaten a little more this morning and also I think I felt slightly dehydrated. I'm wondering if my recent issues are mostly just having not run outside much in the last few months and getting used to it again. Anyway, I did stop once to loosen my shoelaces (felt much better afterwards) but did not need to stop and stretch during the run. When my legs started to tighten I was still able to keep going. So it seems like I'm making progress. Hopefully a couple more weeks and I will be back to normal.
