Raced. And I'm glad I did. This was not a PR sort of course with tons of turns, puddles inches deep, soaking shoes and socks, small children allowed to line up at the front of the start line, wind and cold. Oh, also I had to slow down several times to figure out which turn to take. Once I even had to stop completely to look around and find the overturned sign with the arrow pointing the correct direction. My time was 25:21 but I ran hard and kept the women in front of me and behind me in my sights. I pushed. No watch.
8th out of 197 overall and 3rd out of 101 women. (4th woman was 5 seconds behind me!)
