Notes
3rd Overall, 1st in my Age Group (Though it is worth noting the 1st & 2nd were in the 50 AG.) Felt tired and sloppy for most of this but that is ok, I didn't decide I was running it until 45 minutes prior.
Went out little too fast, and led the first half mile or even 3/4. This was planned, I figured I would be among the favorites and wanted to see who else would go. I hoped being in the lead might motivate me. Once i got passed, figured it was time to settle in and not pay attention to overall results and just run a good race after a bad week of work. They might come back to me anyways.
The first two mile splits were almost exactly the same as my PR race, but I could tell I was working harder and it wasn't going to be my day by the half way point. Grinded out the last mile and ended up 3rd overall. Last mile was alone for most of it, didn't feel like I could catch the guy in front of me and no one pushing me, so that probably didn't help. Course seemed long to me and my watch. Not much of a confidence booster, but not really that important in the overall scheme of things going into Baystate.
