Probably should not have done this race and went with my instincts not too. The course was way to challenging/technical in spaces. I rolled my ankle (same damn one) about 1.5 miles in and thought about quitting at that point. Just happened that I was less than 400 yards from where I parked, so the idea had appeal. It seemed ok as I got to within 50 yards of the parking lot, so I went on and tried to keep the same pace as it seemed better than last time.

GPS didn't seem accurate in the woods so just ran by feel for the most part and a guesstimated pace. I tucked in behind some young kid and let him pace me. In the end I finished 31st out of 211 finishers. 5th in the 40 to 49 age group. Went to watch my son race after, and he broke 20, solid run for him but not his best. To run in the meet of champions as a sophomore though is a great learning experience, one I wish I had at his age. He will hopefully run that race again next year, I won't run this one again as it isn't worth the injury chances.

Went home, watched a movie with the wife, wrapped the ankle in ice and elevated it to get the swelling down again. Will have to see how it looks in the morning to see if a med long run is still in the plans.

Dumbass. Nice race, though.
