Notes

This long run was kind of weak sauce distance wise, but even with such a mediocre race yesterday we (Leonel, Maryland friend, and I) were not feeling up for too long. We just ran around Bensenville where Leonel lives. My Maryland friend Jacob Hyman who runs for the UMD club will give own perspective on the run:

We embarked from the Leonel household at 8:30 AM sharp into a blistering hot morning. We made a sharp right and headed through a number of neighborhoods before finally making our war to a local park. We then navigated the circumference of a lake located in the center of the small suburban recreational area. We had started off at a brisk pace, but due to the nature of our previous day's race, we slowed down to a more steady pace, which we continued for most of the run. After traveling through the park, we headed back through the neighborhoods towards downtown Bensinville, pacing by the home of the Chicago Blues Hockey team along with a number of other local landmarks, we then made our way across the traintracks of the Bensenville Metra station and headed towards Leonel's high school, with its iconic "Welcome to bison country" sign. Upon laying eyes upon his alma mater, we pivoted back towards Leonel's house, heading through some more neighborhoods before finally returning to our starting place, tired...but content with a satisfying run that not only improved our athletic capabilites, but our relationship as friends.
