Notes
Saunders 10k, Rye.
Had really hoped for a AG win. Knew Randy McNeil would be a competitor and that he'd probably show up.
Plan A was to run the first half a little easier and pick it up the second half. But when I saw McNeil there I did not want to feel like i had to hunt him down so I tucked behind him at the beginning with the plan to just out kick him at the finish. Stayed two steps behind him until the sixth mile when I was getting warm and running out of gas. He opened a bigger lead that I couldn't overcome. He just plain beat me. Overall, I was pleased with the run. Results were decent considering the track workout Tuesday night but it sure is frustrating to be that close and not finish :01 ahead instead of :05 behind.
No Garmin splits but timing clock at first mile was 5:35. Last mile the feet felt very heavy.
