Goal of race was to run around 150 HR. I pretty much followed through until the end when I just wanted to get done so I sped up to finish. The last 6 miles of downhill really took a toll on my quads and I was really feeling it by then which is why I decided to push forward and let the heart rate go above 150. Probably averaged in the mid to upper 150's for HR for the last 6 miles. For being the 3rd year that I have run this race, I underestimated or maybe forgot about how tough the hills are in this race.
We'll see how I recover through the week for the marathon next weekend. It may not matter anyways as the weather is predicted to be hot. My original goal of 3:10 for this second marathon may go to the trash if the weather indeed is hot.
