Rosaryville

Notes

Felt good waking up this morning and the drive down to Rosaryville. Somewhere on the first loop I lost the enjoyment of the run. I know, an ultra is supposed to be a bear. I guess I was looking for a long run in the woods today and that wasn't isn't the cards.

Made the mistake of wearing a long-sleeve shirt for the first 5K, which I switched at the first pass of the dropbag area. No falls, but there were a couple slides and knocking of ankles that were unsettling. One foot got wet during a water crossing. 95% of the course was easily runnable trails, although the leaves and mud patches were a nuisance.

I could have done two loops considering the way I felt. Three loops probably not. I'm glad that I bailed early, since my body doesn't feel any wear and it didn't derail the rest of my weekend plans.

Went out too fast and it was starting to heat up too early. Might have been a different story with a 20 degree drop in weather.
