Did not believe my eyes when I saw the timer at the finish. I was expecting to run just sub-17, because there is usually no competition. But one of the local running stores sponsored a guy that ran about 16:30, so he was pretty close to me most of the way, and that kept the pressure on. Broke the course record by over 20 seconds, which I'm pretty pumped about. And for winning, I got a cowbell that says "1st Place" on it. Pretty classy.
