This was my PR for 2009. And this is my recollection of the race.
I remember not sleeping well, but I felt really good that morning. Ate 2 slices of french toast. Did a good slow warm up run. Took off really fast and throttled it down quickly. I remember seeing the 1mile split time and feeling really good physically and mentally thought the 7:41 pace was great for how good I felt. I found a guy to pull me a long and I just hung with him til near the end when I dug deep. I started to get tired around the 1.75 - 2 mile mark but didn't give up. I remember hitting the corner that was the home stretch about quarter mile and started pushing knowing the pain was almost over. I took 3rd and it was my first medal. Great feeling!
