Almost perfect race weather today. Overcast and cool the only negative was the 30mph gusts in your face on the final 3/4 mile stretch. Made the finish a little tough. Very satisfied with the results. Missed my PR by 9 seconds and that's kind of tough, but for the first race of the year I'll take it. I think I need to get some longer distance tempo runs worked into my training. I tend to fade bad in that second mile. Competition was tough out there too. Winner ran a 14:50 and the top 3 were under 5 min miles and the top 58 were under 6 min miles. I took 21st in my age group and 167th overall out of 415. Next up the Ramblin Rockdale 10K.
