Notes
Really pleased with this run considering I drove 7 hours on a normally 5 hour drive, lost an hour going from CDT to EST. Arrived at 2am, got to bed at 2:30 and got up at 5:30 to race. I kept my pace comfortable and ran negative splits. 7:15, 7:09, 7:03 and a strong kick from the 2.5 mile. Fast, flat course. Winning time was 14:42. I set a goal of being in the top 75 and I came in 68 out of 478.
I really felt like I had more to give on this race. I never felt like I was pushing myself until the last 1/2 mile. Is this a good strategy? Or did I short change myself. I know in the past my fastest runs have come from postive spilts. Guess we'll have to see. Next race July 15.
