The good news: The trail was clear but with frequent patches of black ice and a few short stretches of hard ice in the first mile and a half out. The bad news: The trail was completely covered with hard ice after Chelmsford Center for as far as I could see. Turned around at a mile and a half and then went to the tunnel and back to make it a complete four miles. Nice to run 4 miles outside, but very disappointed that 6 miles outside is only practical as two three mile out and back runs. That should still be better than the dreadmill.
