Notes
Good race. Got to start on the line, so there wasn't any delayy when they said go. Started getting passed by a few people early, but I knew they would either smarten up or fade away. They all smartened up and that left me in third place. I managed to maintain my distance from second over all the hills and the two charges I made (hitting low 5's) didn't really close the distance much. The second loop on the grass was much tougher than the first and I felt my pace slow considerably, but I picked it back up on the flats and really picked it up when hitting the road again. Held a 5:15-5:30 for most of the last mile, but slowed a little as I neared the end and then a lot when I hit the giant hill at the finish. Third overall. Got a nice pint glass for my award.
After the race, I went to cheer in Grace. Saw Mariele finish (first) and then saw Grace and a blonde girl soon after. As I saw her and turned to run with her, she pulled ahead of the blondie and finsihed very solid for a second place overall finish. After that, was Sari (though I missed her finish) who took first in her age group. Not too much later, Donnie crossed the line (3rd in his age group) after the half marathon - a course that he said was the most brutal half marathon course he's ever run and probably the hilliest course of any distance that he's run.
