Not ideal conditions for a half-marathon. Very muggy, hot weather and a hilly course combined to make this a gruelling race. A fast start saw me pick up a stitch in mile 2 but mile 4 onwards I managed to work my way slowly up the field.
The hilly course proved a constant struggle with hill after hill appearing around every corner but I managed to keep plodding on. The heat was another factor with which competitors had to contend with, but most people managed to cope with it admirably.
Finishing 29th is an achievement I am happy with considering the above conditions and the number of fast runners amongst the field.
