Notes

Had a great distance run with the team today. My post from Monday about feeling the post-peak phase of training is ironic given every since then I've felt great, but we'll see how the rest of the week looks.

Had a fun group today. Myself, Mallory, Tricia, Lauren, Kaia, Hailey, Erin Ellefsen, Brooke, and Emily. Ended up being un unplanned run which probably held our top 7 for this season, so that was fun.

Went up and had fun in Dunnings for about 6 miles. I led the crew through Captains and Snail Trail, Upper ice cave and upper and lower mother's day. Many of them didn't know these trails existed. I forget how young some of them are, and if you are a low mileage person how infrequently you venture out to the trails. We had a blast, and I felt fantastic. We came back river trail and much of the group headed up North Street for home. Lauren, Tricia and I went out to the dike and through City Prairie to tack on some extra. I finished with a barefoot half mile, ish, on the course, to get 9. Definitely felt a little tired by the end, but the barefoot felt good. Glad I finished with that as opposed to stopping after 8.5 in my shoes because the barefoot helped stretch out my feet and my legs and I felt much more smooth after just a few minutes.

Steve and Yarrow offered to pay my entrance fee if I want to race at Eau Claire on Friday, but part of me really wants to watch and spectate for the first 6/8k of the season. Hmmmm decisions.

What about Sarah?? Any predictions for tomorrow?? Also, you'll have to give me a full tour of the front side of Dunning's next time I'm in town, as I still have trouble linking of those trails. Ahhh, that's so tough! I want you to race because I want to race but can't be there, but it is a great race and great point in the season to watch it unfold from the sidelines too...Let me know what you decide! :)
