Notes

Had a great, solo workout today.

I wasn't necessarily planning for a real quality day, but I felt awesome the second I took off, and immediately I knew it would be great to just do a fun, spontaneous workout.

2 mile ish warm up

1/2 mile @ 6:30 pace

3/4 mile @ 6:30 pace

1 mile @ 6:15

3/4 mile @ 6:15 pace

1/2 mile @ 6:30 pace

about a 2 ish minute jog in between each piece.

A ladder sounded like fun, and even the longest piece was only a mile at 6:15, so the only thing felt great. Especially ending on a shorter AND slightly slower piece left me feeling energized. I think I was smiling.

Definitely a sweet spot workout, and great fun.

You should race soon again. Sounds like you're ready to put the hurt on some people.

debating racing next wednesday at the torchlight 5k in the twin cities. It would be a real test of where I am.

Looking at results from last year it would be really hard to be top 5, but top 10 would maybe be do-able.

Costs $39 though, ouch.

also considering racing the elvelopet at Nordic Fest. We'll see.

Were the pieces and paces approximate, or were you GPSing, or a route with markers?

route had marks on it

$39 is cheap in cycling terms, esp if it's not much of a drive!! But I know you've raced a lot of "free" 5ks in your life so that seems steep. Do it, test out a different race strategy or shoot for a time and just use it as a tool. Take Anders.
