Notes

Easy, solo four. Waited as long as I could in the hopes of escaping the worst heat of the day. Still incredibly sticky and humid, but at least the sun was beginning to set and not nearly as intense. Wasn't digested fully from dinner, so I definitely feel very light, but for a half hour easy run it was fine.

Hoping to hit 65 miles this coming week. I have a goal for the first time all summer. Iv done four weeks in a row of 50 miles without any conscious effort to hit a number, and this week it was 55. It appears 50 is about my Normal right now. Plan now is to build through August and maybe September? Would love to hit a 75 or 80 ish mile week sometime in the next 5 or 6 weeks. The most iv done is 73, and id love to work toward 75 or 80 while I'm feeling healthy and fit.

I looked closely at the new haven road runner's team schedule for the first time today, and iv been in contact with a few of the members lately. It seems like a group i would like to run and train with when I move out east in about a month. Iv done some looking and some research, and I'm excited about that group.

For a little while now iv been noodling on the idea of racing a half. I haven't yet, I'm headed out to potentially train with a new team, and I think it's about time I took on a first true distance race post-college.

No promises yet, still much to feel out and much to consider, but the team is racing a half on October 10th. I'm going to let my subconscious sit on that for a few weeks and we'll see what happens.
