As predicted, I felt absolutely terrible on this run- the exact opposite of my experience this morning. I'm not surprised. It often takes a solid 24 hours for any lifting session or speed workout to really get into my system. I had very little to give. Started out with Anders and ran 2 with him, and then when he turned for home I extended around Cedar. The run itself wasn't actually terrible, but that's because I just let the body do what it needed. And the 8:30 average pace says it all. But I didn't mind. I wasn't in a hurry, and after a long day of interviews it felt nice to be outside again.

I've been trying to focus a lot on my form on slow/recovery/sluggish-feeling runs. Because I think I recover better and more quickly when I maintain good form and good cadence and good energy even if I'm moving slower. I think I did a good job of that today. I tried to run in an energized fashion even though I was moving really slow and felt generally fatigued. And by the end I felt much better than I did when I started.
