Nailed a great and last workout before TC 10!

The workout was as follows:

warm-up

800m @ 2 mile pace

800 @ 10 mile race pace

800 @ 10 mile race pace

800 HARD.

This workout is almost identical to the workout I did the Wednesday before TC10 last year. I like it A LOT. The 800's at 2 mile race pace and HARD offer a lot of good work, but its only for the last 200-300 meters of each piece, so all together the workout only holds about 400-600m of tough work. And the 800's at 10 mile race pace absolutely feel like you are WALKING. Huge confidence boost heading into the weekend. Also fun to tackle another fun workout with my tall, blonde, friend. Always better with good company.

I was also pleasantly surprised because I looked back at what I wrote and my times from last year, and my 800 hard was EXACTLY the same time. This gives me a lot of confidence as well, considering the fact that my training this summer and fall has looked so drastically different from last year and any other training block I've ever had before. Additionally, my middle 800's, the ones at race pace, were about 5 seconds faster than last year, and still felt OVERLY comfortable (As they should, of course). Still, it feels good to have this one under my belt heading into Sunday.

And of course it is nice to report that the knee held up well for small bit of work and the 6 miles total. I'm sure it'll hurt me a bit on Sunday, but it has gotten me to the start line (almost), which I wasn't sure was going to happen a month ago. And now its go time. And pertaining to the knee, in the words of the Great Brenna Gibbons: "Ibuprofen equals I be Playin", and in the words of Anders Bowman: "Fuck em".

Splits for the workout were as follows:

800 @ 2 mile: 2:47

800 @ 10 mile: 3:16

800 @ 10 mile: 3:14

800 hard: 2:37
