Today I was NOT a wheenie.

I got back to my apartment around 5 ish, digested for a bit, and for an hour told myself "Self, you're going to do this. Its pouring down rain outside, but you're not gonna care. You're going to walk your booty into your room, you're going to put on some spanks and a light jacket and your goofy looking Luther running hat, you're gonna throw on some tunes and put your phone in a plastic bag, and then you're gonna grow a pair and you're gonna walk outside into that rain all by yourself and get your long run in. And I don't want to hear one more excuse." So that's what I did. I was not a wheenie.

Other noteworthy thoughts:

My ideal Saturday is a long run, followed by a bacon cheeseburger and tater tots, and then getting slightly tipsy and having a good time. Today I did all those things in exactly the opposite order.

A few friends and I did a 1pm tour of the Two Roads Brewery in CT, and then hung around the brewery for most of the afternoon, tasting and doing a beer flight and having fun socializing. Then, we went to Bar Louie and I had a fabulous Bacon Cheeseburger with tater tots. Then, about two hours later, after some digestion time, I went out and accomplished my long run for the week.

Now, would I suggest this as a particularly desirable routine? No, I wouldn't. But it happened to work out quite well for me today. I simply got the benefit of a couple burger-tasting burps while I was out and about.

As Anders would say of the beer and the burger and the tots, "Its good for power."
