River trail

Notes

Headed out the door into a chilly 45 degree morning, but was soon reminded that while 45 is slightly uncomfortable for walking around outside, it is the perfect running temperature. It was a glorious, crisp, fall morning, and watching the sunrise over Decorah was great. Was supposed to meet Yarrow and Anna this morning, however yarrow opted out after a bit of knee soreness last night and this morning, so Anna and I enjoyed a nice partnership. We ran the dike from the Pasche residence, across college drive, and trotted on ice cave a bit before deciding on river trail. Running the trails in partial darkness is always a little exhilarating, and we had to be careful of footing in places. We ran out about a half mile on lower palisades and commented on the fog over the river and the great colors that were illuminating the bluffs. Ran river trail and the dike back to college drive and then went out separate directions. Again I felt better as we went, and debated adding on after we parted ways to head home, but opted to allow 7 to be enough for the morning, knowing there may be an opportunity to run later. Was home by about 7am and enjoyed a leisurely and hot breakfast and shower before heading into work.
